James Stanyer

James Stanyer is Professor of Communication and Media Analysis at Loughborough University and member of the University’s Centre for Research Communication and Culture. James is a political scientist by training, gaining his PhD in Government from the London School of Economics in 1999.

James’ research is concerned with the development of political communication across advanced industrial democracies. He has published on a wide range of topics including: populism; the personalization of politics; political news and journalism; online political campaigning; political impression management, and comparative research methodologies. His work has appeared in a wide range of leading academic journals, and he has authored co- edited several books: “Communicating Populism (2019); “Intimate Politics” (2013); “Modern Political Communication” (2007); ,the “Political Communication Reader” (2007); and “The Creation of Political News” (2001).
