David Nicolas Hopmann is Professor at the Centre for Journalism and the Digital Democracy Centre at the University of Southern Denmark in Odense. In addition, he has been a visiting scholar at the Amsterdam School of Communication Research (ASCoR), Mid-Sweden University in Sundsvall, University of Gothenburg, and the University of Zurich.
In his research, David studies the antecedents of media content and its effects on consumers and societies as well as informal political communication. Currently, he is a member of the research management team of the Danish Power Analysis (2024-2028), initiated in 2022 by the Danish parliament. His research has been published in international journals such as Political Communication, European Journal of Political Research, Journalism, or Party Politics.
