Ana S. Cardenal is Professor of Political Science at the Open University of Catalonia. She is also affiliated with Pompeu Fabra University, where she is a lecturer. She has been a visiting scholar at the Center for Latin American Studies (CLAS) at Stanford University and a Fulbright Fellow at the Department of Politics at New York University (NYU).
Her current research interests lie at the intersection between political science and communication studies, with a focus on digital media and online audiences, processes of opinion formation, parties, voting, and research methods. Her research has received an award from WAPOR to the best article published in 2019 at International Journal of Public Opinion Research, and has appeared in scientific journals such as Journal of Computer Mediated Communication, International Journal of Press/Politics, European Journal of Communication, Party Politics, and Policy & Internet, among others. Currently she is a co-PI in the NORFACE project, “The Threats and Potentials of a Changing Political Information Environment” (THREATPIE).
