Ana S. Cardenal is a Professor of Political Science at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). She is also a group leader at the Digital Transformation and Governance Research Center at UOC. She has been a visiting scholar at the Center for Latin American Studies (CLAS) at Stanford University and a Fulbright Fellow at the Department of Politics at New York University (NYU).
Her current research interests lie at the intersection between political science and communication studies, with a focus on digital media and online audiences, processes of opinion formation, parties, voting, and research methods. Her research has received an award from WAPOR to the best article published in 2019 at International Journal of Public Opinion Research, and has appeared in scientific journals such as Journal of Computer Mediated Communication, Political Communication, Public Opinion Quarterly, New Media and Society, International Journal of Press/Politics, European Journal of Communication, and Party Politics, among others.
